At the end of January the band went down to the Hard Rock Toronto to film a live performance for The Toronto Sessions on Rogers TV.  Have a look at Frankie and Me and if you like what you see head over to the Suitcase Sam YouTube channel to watch the two other performances.  If the video isn't enough to satisfy your desire make sure to visit in our bandcamp and download the live track of Frankie and Me.

On Thursday, January 31st, Suitcase Sam and the Suits taped three songs at Toronto's HardRock Cafe as part of The Toronto Sessions. The performance will be airing in the near future on a date still to be determined.
 

Brent Randall and Mike Roy have been playing in the Suits for some time, but now felt like the right time to put a ring on it. If you haven't already had the chance come and check out the Suits, now performing in stereoscopic sound.

The soundtrack for the Sweetest Hippopotamus (featuring Can I Get a Bone, the Hippo Rag and the Sweetest Hippopotamus) picked up a best soundtrack award in the short film category at the 2012 ACTION ON FILM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.  Special thanks to Robin Hatch and Charlie Krenshaw for their involvement in the creation of this music.

After much deliberating and hub-bub I am very happy to announce the completion of my new album: Waiting For A Train. The release date is still to be determined. Summer is here and Leslieville is throwing a party.  I am truly fixedto be a part of this year's  SUMMERLUST.  All performances arehappening al fresco.  So if you're looking for somewhere to strollwhen the sun is still high in the sky make sure to saunter on overto Leslieville tonight between 6 and 10 p.m.

If you reside, or aspire to be in the St. John's, Newfoundland area between June 19th and June 23rd, be sure to check out the screening of THE SWEETEST HIPPOPOTAMUS at the 12th ANNUAL NICKEL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL.  The screening kicks off Opening night on June 19th at 8:00 PM.

The Sweetest Hippopotamus premiered on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Houston World Film Festival where it won the platinum award for best dramatic short.  Also, John Nicholls is nominated for BEST EDITING at the 2012 C.C.E awards for his work on The Sweetest Hippopotamus.  Go to the VIDEO section of this site to watch a teaser of the film put together by our D.O.P. Robert Scarborough.
